A fruit and veg seller has been banned from shouting about his wares in a posh seaside town where he has worked for 35 years after he was accused of being too noisy. Wayne Bellows (pictured), 53, and his family have been selling at the historical market in upmarket Lymington, Hants, for the last 80 years without any complaints. But the market trader, the fourth generation stallholder in his dynasty, has been told by local officials his traditional cries to flog produce are unacceptably loud. The most deafening of his shouts, which he says adds to the bustling market atmosphere, was as loud as a chainsaw or a rock concert at 111 decibels (bottom right).
